Literature News June/July 2012

Sun Jul 1, 2012, 9:22 AM

Hello all! As you've probably guessed by the title of the journal and the Community Relations journal skin, this is the monthly update from the literature community volunteers. :)

Discussion!

CRLiterature

As announced last week, CRLiterature is now open for membership. Over the year it has been open, it used to be watch only, but thorns and I want to start building this group into something more interactive and community driven. Over the next few months, we will be adding little elements to the group to achieve this, but we want to know what you as the literature community think you want to get out of this group. Ideally we want to make this a community hub- soon members will be able to cross-post their projects/lit news journals so the information is better spread and we want to encourage more challenges and education too. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this, we want your feedback!

Critique nights & Critique forum thread

We held 2 critique nights in the CRLiterature chatroom this month and would like some feedback from those who attended. Does the format of these work? Would you like to see more/less events? What about the time we have them etc? Opinions welcome!

On a side note from that, I have been setting up a monthly critique thread in the forums every month now since the forums moved. Are people finding this useful? What is/isn’t working with this thread?

Farewell, New AND seniors!

In the CR team, we said goodbye to abutton in the chat and forums team.

Lots of new members to the CR team this month! Moonbeam13 has been busy processing applications and the team almost doubled in size as a result! Please give your support and welcome to the following new volunteers:

Seniority Announcement - June 2012
This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 900 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
:faq29:
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
Some people have received Seniority because of their artistic endevours, having a positive influence on their peers by sharing resources, providing constructive criticism and by being a voice t

Finally, the July deviousness award has been given to someone who has a background in the literature community. Itti is an absolutely lovely deviant, so if you don’t know who she is, go say hello and congratulations!

Great news here! I'm looking forward to checking out #CRLiterature! :) As for the chats, unfortunately the only time I'm really available is during the week days, in the daytime. I know that's a bad time for most people, so I'm not complaining. I just can't participate. :(
