What is this group?
britain is a group dedicated to organising devMeets throughout the United Kingdom. We have been around since 2002 and were one of the first groups to test the deviantART groups system. Since then, we have seen over 100 meets in the last few years up and down the country bringing together deviants like you to meet in the real world!
Awesome, Can I join?
Yes, go right ahead! If you intend to organise a devMeet please state as such and apply to Contributors rather than Members. If you apply to contributor without stating that you intend to host a meet, then you will be rejected.
But I’m not British?
This group is open for anyone to join, but we’d expect people to join with the intent of coming to a devMeet eventually! If you are looking for meets in your part of the world, check out the :devgroups: home.
What is a devMeet? How do I hold one? What should I wear?
A devMeet is a public meeting of fellow deviants (members of deviantART). raygirl has created a fantastic guide that is an essential read for all, even if you’ve been to meets before:
I want to host a devMeet!
That’s fantastic! What we always suggest is that before you host a devMeet, attend one first. It’s important to understand the nature of meets, what people do and don’t like as a group. Plus it is great to get to know a few people first!
If you do want to host a meet, organisation is the key. Make clear decisions on activities and destinations- if a meet looks badly organised, people are less likely to attend.
Also if you do wish to host a meet, please contact us and we will move you to the contributors group. This way you will be able to access our backroom, asking questions to experienced meet organisers and also be able to post the meet journal to our group.
I know of an event that British folk may be interested in!
We appreciate that there’s lots of exciting things going on that may interest our Britishfolk! However, this group is specifically for devMeets only and therefore we currently don’t have a specific need for these events.
However, we welcome people to comment on our profile page about these events as members do look on the front page often. 
It would be cool if there was a devMeet in "insert-your-city/town-here", can someone organise one?
We've had a lot of these sorts of comments over the years. The answer is quite simple: If you want a devMeet somewhere near you, you should organise one! We cannot organise a Meet just for you in a place that we don't live and have no knowledge of.

We only accept pictures of UK based devmeets and we LOVE those (See Favourites Gallery)
